Foot arterial vascular disease
The foot with arterial vascular disease is a fragile foot because distal hypovascularization leads to trophic changes of the integuments which, unless they are diagnosed in time and treated, can result in complications such as perforating ulcer, traumatic bulla formation, necrosis, gangrene and amputation which are painful, disabling and may even be life-threatening for the arteritic patient.
Therefore, it is important to educate the patient to examine his or her feet daily, to choose the right footwear based on a knowledge of the criteria and indicators for selecting shoes that are adapted to the individual morphology of the feet, and going regularly to the pedicure-podiatrist.
