Non discoid sciatica : the pyramidal syndrom
Patients showing a non-typic and partial sciatica may present a pyriformic syndrome, due to the compression of the sciatic nerve by the pyriformic muscle. Close clinic examination will point to the diagnosis.
Most often, the treatment will be focused on physiotherapy and stretching. Preventing the pyriformic syndrome is easy by teaching exposed people a few positions.
